The MetaCare OPD™ module safely and efficiently processes all prescriptions for ambulatory patients in hospitals or sub-acute facilities. It is designed to stand alone or be integrated with MetaCare Enterprise Rx.
OPD patients can automatically be linked to inpatient accounts by medical record number. One or more prescription plans can be assigned, with priorities, at the patient level. Cardholder details can be assigned at the patient level, and family groupings can be created. In addition, clinical and other patient information can be documented at the patient level, including allergens, chronic diagnosis, patient notes and more.
Clients who have both MetaCare OPD and MetaCare Enterprise Rx can have one common formulary database to service inpatient orders and prescription orders. Each formulary item can be designated to be available for either or both modules. Users also can search for formulary items during prescription order entry by generic name, brand name, alternate name, mnemonic or NDC number. Plus, inventory is tracked at the formulary level for all prescription dispensing.
User preferences for the OPD module include default prescription expiration, OTC pricing, user-defined prescription sig codes and user-defined comprehensive billing formulas. Practitioner profiles may be identified by DEA Number, State License Number, NPI or NCPDP Provider ID.
